no sound device since i up graded to XP from 98

I beleive the sound card is a soundblaster whose driver is MSSBLST.vxd but I can not find this on any website to download it.... None of this address the sound problem though, which has nothing to do with the units. It's the sound system that needs to be reviewed. Make sure Control Panel...Multimedia has the correct units selected. In Device Manager, be certain there are no warning symbols on your primary sound device.

No Sound
A couple of days ago after switching on my pc I noticed that my sound wasn't working. The sound device icon in my system tray has a red circle with a white cross over it. I have tried adjusting my sound devices in my bios, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for my sound device, but nothing works.
